Eighteen Minutes, Worth Your Time

You NEED to watch this.

I’m serious.

Grab a bowl of popcorn because this is a totally awe-inspiring 18 minutes of neatness live from the amazing artisans behind the horse “puppets” used in the Broadway play War Horse.

Ted scored a free ticket to see War Horse on tour at the Aronoff Center in Cincinnati last Sunday and said it was fantastic – the story, the acting, and the horses.

Then he forwarded me this video about how they made the horses for the show.

Incredible.

Do yourself a favor, relax for 18 minutes, and watch the magic unfold.

About

Welcome to Newlyweds in New York!

I'm Lara, a native Texan in a newlywed state of mind enjoying wedded bliss and the adventurous life in Rochester, New York with my husband Ted. We are proud owners of the Green Bay Packers and both work in the professional theatre industry - me in the artistic realm and Ted on the production scene - where, rest assured, there is never a dull moment. We met in Lansing, Michigan, wed in Door County, Wisconsin, started our married life in Cincinnati, Ohio, and have now made our way to the Roc City. I love the arts, traveling, the great outdoors, cooking, eating, discovering all the awesome things to do in upstate New York, adventuring, animals, and schmoozin’ with our family and friends. Follow along with us as we navigate this crazy/beautiful life together!

Currently…

Anticipating - Walks and runs and picnics and lawn games and ANYTHING outdoors!

Craving - Fresh produce from the farmers market so I can make some amazing recipes!

Creating - I have a DIY plan in place for designing and building our own end tables, my reading nook, some living room wall art, and a fun addition to our front yard landscaping

Loving - Sunshine and nice weather, pretty spring clothes, the farmers market, my bike, and our wonderful families and friends

Planning - A Texas vacation in June, and all the wonderful experiences I want to soak up this spring and summer

Reading - March by Geraldine Brooks and Wild by Cheryl Strayed

Theatre - The Odd Couple and Summer Academy for me, and a handful of summer shows to design in Ted's pocket

Thinking - Spring! Spring! Spring! I never liked spring until I lived with 5 long, frigid months of winter

Watching - Still working our way through the Parenthood series, and recently I've been watching HGTV's house hunting shows like a crazy person

Wishing - For our lives to always be as happy and wonderful as they are now
